Back on track!

Well, China has decided not to hold referrals any longer, and they have sent the May referrals! These new referrals cover through 3/14/06 - six LIDs! :) Sooo....that leaves us with 13 LID's left before our turn - pretty exciting, I must say! The whole idea that this all might actually happen is starting to become a tiny bit more real. There ARE some pretty large LID's coming up, so who knows how long the remaining days will take, but for now, we are pretty darn happy with 6 being assigned, knowing that we are inching closer to our new child. Wow.

Still nothing

Well, referrals are officially late for the month of May, based on the timeframes seen for the past few years. Sometimes referrals have arrived sooner than the average of 30 days apart, and sometimes up to 38 or 39 days apart, but we are past that window now. There is still no official word from the CCAA in China as to what they are planning to do - stop referrals, stop just travel approvals, etc. A bit of information would be helpful, but the CCAA isn't really into tipping their hand and sharing information. So, we wait.

A little bright spot this week

We have been waiting since the end of March for our new I-171H, the big daddy of our necessary immigration paperwork. It came yesterday! Yay! :) This means that when our referral ever arrives, we are ready! We will not have to renew any more paperwork if we can travel and return by December 12, 2009 - that's when our fingerprints expire, and they have to be current through our return travel date. We are not worrying about that for now, and are just happy that we have everything current. We're ready, China - bring on the referral! :)
