Why would I expect anything different?

The news is out that China is stopping referrals and travel approvals for 20-30 days due to the swine flu outbreak. Some people have official emails from their agencies about this, others are saying it's not official yet. Good grief.

First May rumor

There hasn't been much going on in rumorland lately, but a first little snippet of a rumor is out and about. They are saying possibly 6 LID's this month, which would include through March 14th, 2006. Definitely better than 2 or 4! :)

My main source of information, the Rumor Queen site, has also had some really interesting, heavy duty posts over the last couple of weeks about attachment, things that babies in orphanages may have experienced, and the like. So much food for thought. I'll get the actual links up to the articles in the coming days - there's so much good info for our friends and family, too!

We are hopeful that the next week will bring a big batch of referrals and bring us closer to our new daughter - or son! :)

April Referrals

Referrals arrived this week for 2 LID's - March 7 and 8, 2006. I supposed two days are better than one, but at this rate, we'll be traveling in 2010! We are down to 19 LID's left before it is our turn, so who really knows when that will be. The last three sets of referrals have been 2, 4, and 2 LID's, so at this rate, we could still be waiting well into next fall. I was so worried about conflicts this summer, but those worries have been taken care of. Now it will be school conflicts in the fall. :)

Deep down in my heart, I really do trust God's timing on this process, and I know we will understand when we receive our referral and travel to China to meet our new little Allender, but in the meantime, the waiting is sure not easy. Patience, patience, patience.
